FLOYD MUTRUX

FLOYD MUTRUX (Co-Director/Co-Author/Conceiver) is the co-author of Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet. Apprenticed at Alley Theatre, Houston; Second City, Chicago; studied in NY while working at Second City and attending Columbia University; in Los Angeles, created, wrote, directed or produced 50 films in 25 years: American Hot Wax (Best Picture, Direct, Village Voice, etc.), Scarecrow (Best Film, Cannes), Hollywood Knights, Urban Cowboy, The Untouchables, American Me, Freebie and the Bean, Up in Smoke, and Dick Tracy. With his wife, Birgitte, created a rock 'n' roll Field of Dreams, Moon Over Memphis.

SHELDON EPPS

SHELDON EPPS (Co-Director) has been Artistic Director of The Pasadena Playhouse since 1997. He has directed at many of the country's major theatres including the Roundabout, Manhattan Theatre Club, the Old Globe, the Guthrie, Arena Stage, and the Goodman Theatre. He conceived and directed the highly acclaimed musicals Play On! and Blues In the Night, which both received Tony Award nominations, and he directed Blues... in London (Olivier nomination - Best Musical). Off-Broadway he directed the world premiere of Blue, and at his own theatre, he staged the record breaking production of Fences, starring Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett. Mr. Epps also has had a busy career as a television director helming episodes of shows such as "Frasier," "Friends," and "Girlfriends" among others. Under his leadership The Playhouse has earned distinction for productions of artistic excellence, critical and box office success, and highly praised theatrical diversity.

SHELTON BECTON

SHELTON BECTON (Musical Director/Conductor) has worked with artist such as Judy Collins, Phylicia Rashad, Patti Austin, Oleta Adams and presently serves as Music Director for Roberta Flack. He has performed with Marvin Hamlisch, the Alvin Ailey Dance Company and the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, D.C. and his compositions and vocal work have been featured on radio and television commercials, television broadcasts, and recordings. His Broadway credits include The Wiz, Ain't Misbehavin', The Color Purple, and Tony Award winner Memphis.

ANNA LOUIZOS

ANNA LOUIZOS (Set Designer) Received Tony nominations for In the Heights (2008) and High Fidelity (2007); other Broadway designs: Avenue Q; Curtains; Irving Berlin's White Christmas; All About Me; To Be Or Not To Be; Steel Magnolias; Golda's Balcony. Select off-Broadway/Regional designs: Altar Boyz; tick, tick… BOOM!; Crimes of the Heart; Minsky's; Vanities, the Musical; The Castle; The Baker's Wife, Much Ado About Nothing. Art Direction: "Sex and the City."

HOWELL BINKLEY (Lighting Designer) B'way works include: Lombardi, Million Dollar Quartet, Memphis, West Side Story (2009 Tony nomination), Guys and Dolls, Gypsy starring Patti LuPone, In The Heights (2008 Tony nomination), Jersey Boys (Tony Award Winner ), Avenue Q, The Full Monty, Parade, Kiss Of The Spider Woman (Tony nomination/Olivier Winner) and How To Succeed starring Matthew Broderick. Six musicals in rep for The Kennedy Center's Sondheim Celebration. The Joffrey Ballet's Billboards, and designs for more than sixty pieces for Parsons Dance which he co-founded with David Parsons.

DAVID H. LAWRENCE (Hair Designer) Having had the pleasure of working on many Broadway productions, David is happy to be back working on this production of Baby It's You. Most recently you have seen David's work on: A Catered Affair (NYC, Old Globe), Rock'N'Roll (NYC), Coram Boy (NYC), Company (NYC) and Beauty and The Beast (NYC/Tour). Thanks Paul Huntley, all the wonderful performers, fellow designers and those who work so hard backstage nightly.

During the 2010-2011 holiday season it produced on Broadway Elf the Musical, breaking the theatre's record five out of the nine weeks of its special limited engagement. The division's current venture is Baby It's You! which opens on Broadway on April 27, 2011. RICHARD PERRY

RICHARD PERRY (Consulting Producer) is one of the most successful producers in music history. Over his 46 year career he has produced classic albums with Rod Stewart, Ray Charles, Pointer Sisters, Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, Ringo Starr, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Nilsson, The Temptations, and Ella Fitzgerald, amongst others. Perry has had albums in the top ten in every decade since the 60's.

COLIN ESCOTT

COLIN ESCOTT (Co-Author) and Floyd Mutrux cowrote Million Dollar Quartet, currently on Broadway, in London's West End, and in Chicago. Born in England, Colin currently lives near Nashville. He is the author of several books about popular music and is currently a consultant to Time Life Music.

BIRGITTE MUTRUX

BIRGITTE MUTRUX (Choreography) grew up in Oslo, Norway, where she studied dance and theater. Choreographed Million Dollar Quartet in Florida and the Pasadena Playhouse production of Baby It's You (NAACP Theatre Award- Best Choreography). For the last decade, she has collaborated on several projects with her husband, Floyd, mainly the American Pop Anthology, a series of biographical musicals telling the story behind the music that changed the culture of America and the rest of the world.

RAHN COLEMAN

RAHN COLEMAN (Musical Supervisor/Arranger) Rahn's depth, passion and artistry are rarely matched in the areas of musical direction, pianist and professional vocal performance coaching. He has served as musical director, conductor and pianist for: Ray Charles Live, Play On!, Purlie, Blues in the Night, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, The Wiz, Ain't Misbehavin' and Williams and Walker to name a few. He is a product of extensive classical training having studied under the renowned teacher Nadia Boulangier and has 23 years of professional experience having performed, conducted, coached and arranged for such notables as Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner, Barry White, Ray Charles, The Ojays, Freda Payne, Nichelle Nichols, Michael Feinstein, Sarah Vaughn Marilyn McCoo the Philadelphia Philharmonic and the Clinton Presidential Inaugural Orchestra. The recipient of national and international critical acclaim, Rahn is always in the running for top honors. Hailed as one of the most effective performance coaches in the world, he is the Minister of Music at Christ the King Lutheran in Van Nuys and the producing director of The Mystic Knight Recorder, L.A.'s leading underground recording studio. In his own (somewhat) modest words he has been overheard saying. "This musical will simply out compete any other production in town, and it doesn't matter who's here." (We did say somewhat.)

LIZZ WOLF (Costume Design) received the 2010 Stage Scene LA Award for Excellence in Costume Design for her work on Baby It’s You! which previously played at The Coast Playhouse and The Pasadena Playhouse. Film Credits for Costume Design include: The Expendables, Rambo and Suspect Zero. Other films include: A Single Man, 3:10 to Yuma, Dreamgirls, The Black Dahlia, Alexander, The Rules of Attraction, Abandon, Spy Game, Traffic, King of the Hill and Heathers.

CARL CASELLA (Sound Designer) For more than 25 years Carl Casella has worked as a designer and producer for New York's busiest recording studios and Fortune 500 companies. Broadway and Off-Broadway include: Little House on the Prairie; Story of My Life, A Tale of Two Cities,American Buffalo, Xanadu; Mask, Ray Charles the Musical; Frankenstein; Moon for the Misbegotten;Ring of Fire; Once Around the Sun; Sly Fox; Little Shop of Horrors; Raisin in the Sun; Sexaholix; Adult Entertainment. AMERICAN POP ANTHOLOGY (Producer) A series of innovative stage musicals about the people who made the music that changed the culture of our country. American Pop Anthology is represented on Broadway and in London's West End by Million Dollar Quartet and is currently workshopping The Alan Freed Show, When The Fat Man Sang, Boy From NYC, Lonesome Town (with John Kaye), and Someday My Prince Will Come. THE PASADENA PLAYHOUSE

THE PASADENA PLAYHOUSE (Producer), under the leadership of Artistic Director Sheldon Epps and Executive Director Stephen Eich, has been in existence since 1917. Broadway productions that originated there include: Sister Act, Baby It's You!, Looped and Mail. Unchain My Heart, The Ray Charles Musical, which premiered at The Playhouse, is scheduled to open on Broadway in the 2011-12 Season. In 1937, The Pasadena Playhouse was designated the State Theatre of California for bringing national and international renown to the state as a center for dramatic art. The Playhouse continues to thrill Southern California audiences of all ages.

JONATHAN SANGER (Consulting Producer) makes his Broadway producing debut with Baby It's You. He produced the original production in Pasadena and is a BAFTA, CESAR, and Oscar winning film producer whose credits include The Elephant Man, Frances, Vanilla Sky, and The Producers - the Musical. He has most recently directed a new play in Los Angeles and is Artist-In-Residence at Chapman University Film School in California.
